Homepage Module Redesign - Artful Home
For this project I redesigned several modules on the Artful Home homepage. The primary goal of this project was to update the homepage to a wider width & responsive design, with more flexible options to display categories and collections. I also wanted to update design to autofill modules to function better with a responsive width site and improve aesthetics. All of the new modules are designed to be implemented in the Artful Home content management system. CMS updates & new design launch is anticipated in early 2024.
Featured Category and Collection Module:
This new category module features an optional section title. Selections can be displayed as two or three features wide, and one or two rows. Optional Title, description, and call to action are all editable text in the content management system.
An alternative design that can be used in place of or in addition to the above category module, features a four wide design. Title card has editable text and color. The design offer flexibility to include description copy or only show a call to action. This module can be static or could have scrolling arrows to feature a carousel of categories and collections.
Previous Design:
The existing featured category or collection module has limited design flexibility. Modules span the full width and are copy heavy. We wanted to be able to feature more categories without an longer scroll, and reduce copy length.
Recommended For You Module:
The new “Recommended For You” module features products in a forced 3:4 ratio crop to create a cleaner, more modern visual while allowing the product image to get larger. The design has two variations: scrolling carousel, or fixed five card design with a link to view more recommended products. This design also updates the text to new brand fonts.
Previous Design:
The existing design has product images in their original ratio, with a bounding border. Products images are smaller.
Top Rated Module:
The new “Top Rated” module features larger product images in a forced 3:4 ratio crop. The design has two variations that vary how many products are shown and where the title and call to action are located. Both design variations will be built and can be used interchangeably. The design is consistent with variations available for other modules featured above. This design also updates the text to new brand fonts.
Previous Design:
The existing design is quite small within the new wider width design. It features only three rotating products and requires a manual hand selection process to update.
